I took these pictures (wedding photo by Marcus) on a misty, overcast day in November. Just over a year ago Paddy and I were married on that Island. Maggie, as she's known by the locals, sits only a 20 minute ferry ride off the coast of Townsville. She is a very prominent landmark and can be seen clearly from our beaches. She is a constant reminder of our special day. These pictures are so tranquil, calm...harmonious, which reflects the current mood of our marriage perfectly.

And it's hot. And this pregnant womans extremities are swelling to a point that my belly seems to be shrinking in comparison.

At least the visuals of a tropical summer are stunning enough to distract me for a minute or two... frangipanies in bloom just outside the bedroom window and a cairns bird wing butterfly in our back yard.

Glorious mangoes, straight from the tree to me. Perhaps not quite pretty and uniform enough for the supermarkets, but this is exactly how they should be. Big, fresh, sweet, juicy, local, fruity goodness!

I'm trying to keep this blog from falling into another black hole. The truth is, not a great deal of interesting stuff is happening around here lately. The weather is getting warmer. The belly is slowly getting bigger. Christmas is drawing nearer -- which means birth is just around the corner. I guess I'm in limbo land, waiting in anticipation of the exciting things to come. For now, here's some pictures of our day with the Connells at the Riverway pool.
