My hair was glorious during my pregnancy. Long, thick, shiny, enviable even. I don't think a single strand fell out for the entire nine months.

Since I started breastfeeding I have been losing hair in handfuls. Hundreds of tiny baby handfuls at that. My long locks were her favourite toy. Honestly, it's a wonder I'm not bald. So it was time for the Fun Police to intervene. No more swinging off Mummy's hair. All gone! Ta-ta hair!

  1. Nice hair cut! You're so gorgeous Claire. I remember feeling terrified that I was going to lose all my hair too. It did stop although I got a funny bald patch above the temples and around the fringe. Hopefully yours'll stop soon! Kellie xx

  2. oooh yes, i know the feeling! after our son was born i stupidly coloured my hair brown which made the balding more obvious. This time round i went to the hairdressers only weeks after Olive was born and went super blond and super short! much better!

    you look amazing!!

  5. Oh I know... during pregnancy it was luscious and needed a wash maybe once a week. Now it's greasy and foul and I struggle to last two days. I gave it the chop a few weeks ago! Enjoy!

  6. Like I've said in an earlier post - Instagram can make anything or anyone look good! ;) But thank you for the compliments! The Gorman sandals might be uber cool... but the skanky unmanicured feet are definitely standard Mum uniform! xx

  8. apparently your body needs to put all it's energy into growing your baby when you're pregnant so it doesn't make any more hair. with no new hair pushing the old hair out, nothing falls out that whole time. then when you stop breast feeding, your body goes back to normal again, starts making new hair and suddenly pushes out the old hair again. so be prepared to lose a lot more when that happens! don't be scared though, you'll still have plenty left. x

  11. whoa muma! Gorgeous. I suffered a terrible receding hairline when Che hit four months. That's something I'm not looking forward to this time 'round - I'm hoping my naturopath can give me something to prevent the mass of falling hair! x

  16. I feel like I've lost half my hair now that my baby is 6 months. Coming out in handfuls, I was a little worried I was going bald! But it seems to have settled down. You look beautiful with your hair cut. Gorgeous blog, by the way, just discovered it :)
