I hesitated for a moment before buying this trio of Red Riding Hood softies because they were missing a pivotal character - where's Grandma!?! ...but then I figured I could always fill in - after all, I'm looking rather haggard of late and have the aches and pains of an eighty year old... maybe it was meant to be.

Is six months too young to start with the morbid gothic fairytales? She cracks up in hysterics when I pretend to gobble up red Riding Hood with the wolf. Am I a bad mother?

* If you're wondering - the brand is Kalimba, the same as the quirky donkey softie. They have some really cute stuff!

  1. She looks absolutely delighted with them. And how cute does she look in her stockings and bloomers. As for the gothic fairytales..well, although as a parent we cringe at some bits, I remember thoroughly enjoying them as a child. They love a bit of excitement in a story.

  2. I love these toys. And love the idea of you playing the dramatic role of grandma ... although I doubt very much you're haggard enough! When I was young, I had one of those red-riding-hood-three-in-one-dolls that you turned upside down and inside out to get all the different characters. Annoying, though because you could only play with one character at a time. Yours are far better from that point of view! Kellie xx

  5. I love her outfits. The stripes and flowers go together really well. As for those toys...I haven't seen anything like these here, they're very sweet. I know how you're feeling, someone put a photo of me on facebook and I was shocked at how wrinkly and tired I looked! x
