Finally, Eulalie's room is finished. I'm thrilled with how it turned out! It's certainly evolved over time. It all started with the distressed green cabinet that I stumbled upon at the Bower in Marrickville (one of my favourite rummaging spots) before I was even pregnant. When I saw it, I instantly pictured it in a child's room. Our child's room. That green was so right.I didn't really 'theme' her room as such, just filled it with things that I love, things that I hope she will love too. I think it all came together nicely and I can see that it will grow with her.
Paddy has been a huge help... he's been so patient hanging pictures (then rehanging pictures "just 2 centimeters to the right"), hanging shelves, hanging canopies and especially hanging branches. He's very good at hanging branches. It's like the Hanging Branches of Babylon in this place.
My favourite thing? The cot. It was made for me by my Grandad when I was a baby. It's so beautiful that she now gets to sleep in it too!
Her favourite thing? The wall stickers - particularly trying to scratch them off the wall while I'm changing her! Hmph.
Our favourite thing? Cuddly feeds and reading stories on the floor cushions. It's so lovely under the window with the light pouring through in the afternoons.

I am so glad I stayed up late to be the first to see Lalie's room, ha. It is absolutely GORGEOUS. Nothing like what I've seen before. Her nursery is so unique and each object fits so perfectly well. Big bravo to you and Paddy for putting together such a lovely room for Lalie! Now, most importantly, when are you coming to Paris to revamp my place?
xx
ohhhhhhhhhhh it is beautiful ! i love the branches, the soft colours and the tiny shoes on the branches are SO lovely. ah siiiigh. I can't wait to have a home and nest. x
Claire, it's SO beautiful. Truly- i feel like i could cry just looking at it. I can FEEEEELLL the love in that room. Feel it. It's perfect.
xxxxxxxxx You are one talented lady Cabbage.
Oh and that vintage romper. I have no words.
This room is so embued with grace, light , softness, and charm.
Puts me very much to shame.
I love the cushions on the floor. Many happy times there I am sure.

just beautiful. Love the colours. And LOVE the branch as curtain rail, very nice indeed!
so magical and pretty. i love the sunshine pouring in - our nursery faces the east in the morning so i hope to take advantage of the early mornings in there. love how you brought the outdoors in with the little tree and ceramic animals, along with the use of the branches - how you attached her little shoes to them is just too much. thank you for sharing how a white-washed room can be anything but boring. more rooms please!
claire, those knobs are anthropologie? stunning room, just painting our wee ones space. i remember a beautiful picture of that branch/hanging rack that i stuck in my inspiration book, seeing it here again makes me remember why i adored it.
love your details and palette. talented much?! x ashley
p.s. we too had a beautiful mosquito net around piper's cot, until she figured out how to pull it into the cot and wrap herself up with it, alas, one day it will be back, when she is old enough to see it's beauty!... x
Hi Ashley, thanks so much :) The knobs aren't anthropologie, much cheaper from a Balinese/Indian import store here called 'Loot'. x
Oh. My. Goodness!
Claire, her room is stunning! It is so quaint and I love the subtle details in every corner of her room. Love the floating wooden clothes hanger. Love the carpenteria palm branches. Love the handmade cot. Love it all!

That is just the most beautiful nursery I have ever seen! Absolutely amazing Claire. The branch and suitcases are such a clever touch too.
That is just SO beautiful. Amazing. AMAZING! How clever you are. I'm just going to keep coming over to have a look throughout the day if that's alright by you?!
Claire - I'm so jealous of your beautiful house, and this room is just beautiful. I love it - and love you've avoided that "nursery look" and made it so personal and unique. I'm trying to do ours now, and let's just say it's not going to look as good as this.
Question - I too am wanting to put a change mat on a normal dresser (rather than buy a "change table"), do you find it works fine for you? Does it slip around?

It's the most beautiful nursery I've ever seen - whimsy, boho heaven.

oh swoon... so lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I agree with Jodi, most beautiful nursery I have ever seen! x
That there is the most beautiful nursery I have ever seen and puts my son's to shame. It is also reason enough for my first comment on your lovely blog. Thanks for sharing.
it's like a sweet fairytale in her room, lucky lucky girl. you must love it in there. please do tell the details on that mini tree sitting on top of the vintage cabinet. x.
Look at all your comments. That says it all. This has to go in a mag, surely! Your pleasure metre must be soaring!
Jeez I'm suddenly feeling incredibly embarrassed that I've ever posted photos of our crappy version of a kids bedroom! This is unbelievable. The loveliest, most beautiful, dreamy nursery I've EVER SEEN. You should be an interiors stylist instead. Kellie xx
Thanks everyone, you're too sweet :) x
Kristi - the little 'tree' is actually just part of a palm frond/seed thingy that I found on the driveway. It had been driven over about a zillion times and had flattened out to make a perfect mini tree! Nothing fancy! x
ah-mazing! I love love it! I just emailed about the camel....I need one for my little lady! Totally in love!
Claire you have done an amazing job of creating a little cozy haven for Eulalie that is truly beautiful and serene. I think you need you nursery featured over at Ohdeedoh so everyone can see your work. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope you are feeling better now. xo
I forgot to say that the cot is beautiful and so special that Eulalie can use it too, just like you did when you were a baby. xo
BEAUTIFUL Claire! So pretty. I love it :)
I just pinned almost all of these and I don't even have a baby! It's the most beautiful nursery I've ever seen!
only the most beautiful and unique little lady's room that i ever did see. utter perfection.
I adore it the crib, drawers, branches and floor cushions. You are amazing lady. Eulalie is a lucky girl.
Oh me oh my, Claire! It is 100% beautiful. I know I always tend to lean towards more of a scandi-style, but this is just blow-me-away gorgeous! The colours, the lights, the little quirky details! Wow, you must be so proud. I can definitely see this in an interior style book. Well done :) x
It's spectacular! I just want to curl up on those floor cushions and take a nap in the dappled sunlight.. it has a beautiful tranquil feel and I agree it will grow with her beautifully.
Love the history of the cot.
What a beautiful nursery!
Oh My Goodness .... seriously!!
That has to be one of the most gorgeous rooms EVER.

ps. now I want to see more of your house....please!! x
This has to be the most beautiful nursery I have ever seen! Stunningly beautiful... Eulalie is such a lucky girl! Can I come and curl up on those cushions... heaven. I will mention it (if that's okay) on my love list...xLOU xx
It's really gorgeous. So lovely. And the cot is beautiful, my grandpa made Matilda's big girl bed for me when I was a kid, and it feels so special to be able to keep something like that and use it for another generation. The bed in our spare room was also made by my grandpa for him and my grandma. Love.
And i really love the little cushion corner, too cute.
Simple stunning! I would quiet like a room like that myself!
Hope you are feeling better?
Take care of you. xx
Amazing.
That is all. xx
Her room deserves to be in a magazine! I wish my room looked like that! haha :) Lovely.
WHAT??? This could not be any more adorable!
My goodness, I hope all Lalie's dreams are as sweet as her dear little nursery. What a beautiful nurturing, charming, restful place. Love the owl decal framed into a picture and the cushion corner, and the mobile is wonderful -- did you make that as well?
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing this with us.
What a beautiful and serene room - your daughter is lucky to have such a beautiful nurturing space. Would love to know where you got the mobile if you have a mo' xxxx

Lalie´s is beautiful and definetly an inspiration!!
That is without a doubt the most beautiful nursery I have ever seen. Having floor cushions instead of a chair is lovely, really unusual but just so nice and snuggly. So many gorgeous and personal little touches. The cot is beyond stunning, how lucky you are to have something made with such obvious love to share with her x

Wow Claire, Lalie's room is amazing. So much love, care and attention has been paid to this space. You should be truly proud of yourself. I think your grandpa's cot is one of my favourite things in the whole room.
I too love a hanging branch. I asked Dave to do a similar thing a few months ago and he looked at me like I was crazy. So Dave, suck on this!
xx
