Op-shop. Yesterday. A tenner. A TENNER!!!Try not to hate me...
...but if you never come back here to visit me again - I'll understand.
* Holly Hobbie vintage fabric dress - a gift from Zia Kel - purchased at Shorties when she was just a wee thing. It finally fits!

ReplyDeleteVery, very cool. I love your house. I have recently found a couple of pairs of holly hobbie sheets and have been debating whether to make them into little dresses, this post definitely helps the 'for' argument.
ReplyDeleteLove it. I, on the other hand, am not lucky at all with op shops.
ReplyDeleteI don't hate you. I'm just bright green with envy x
ReplyDeleteIt's the best knitted op-shop find I've ever seen.

ReplyDeleteOh. MY. GOODNESS!! That is the find of the century - well done you! I'll try to contain my envy haha :)
ReplyDeletePretty stunning and looks so great in your sweet bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI do feel a bit sad knowing how much work goes into these rugs and how cheap one can pick them up for. Only because I am trying to make my own.
Enjoy!
Lucky for you I'm a lover not a hater. Well that's what I'm trying to tell myself while breathless with envy. Awesome awesome find.

OSGs - We're not worthy, we're not worthy! The most amazing blanket ever. I can't believe someone made that? Crazy. Lil' Lalie looks so sweet in her HH number. She's looking so much older with all that hair!
ReplyDeleteStained glass windows + plantation shutters + an abundance of natural light = dream bedroom. xx
Be still my beating heart!!!!!
ReplyDeleteToo cool, Claire. It couldn't have gone to a nicer lade. x

ReplyDeleteUPDATE:
ReplyDeleteJill and I had a VERY serious conversation about this blanket over dinner tonight. (Rosie and Atticus were none-the-wiser, fools.)
J: I can't believe it
A: I know
J: I just had to laugh. Because it's just too good to be true. ... and it's not one iota on that blanket.
A: If someone in Townsville had to get it I'm glad it went to Claire, because she's so nice AND she photographed it to share with the world.
J: I love what she wrote. It's true. What else is there to say except please don't hate me? It's a work of art.
A: I can't believe someone gave it away.
J: What were they thinking? I mean the flowers, the zig zag, the stripes.
A: Art.
And so on and so forth. Seriously though, couldn't of gone to a nicer lady! xxx
@Mama Bear - few comments make me laugh out loud. I've had some pretty good internal giggles...but this had me roaring! So glad the blanket is getting so much airplay among seriously stylish ladies who know their granny rugs!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe it either. Next week I'm going to go back and give those lovely old Vinnies ladies some extra money for it. I feel dirty having only parted with ten bucks for such a wondrous creation.
Art.
There just isn't enough money in the world to compensate. It's priceless.
ReplyDeleteAnd I see that part of my comment was missed because I must have used some crazy html symbol, but what it was supposed to say way:
J: Because it's just too good to be true (insert crazy story of rad blanket here and lengths to get it...) and it's not one iota on that blanket.
Hope you're enjoying your artwork. x
I can't believe they sold it for 10 dollars...worth so much more as it's so unique and beautiful. You lucky girls!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous and perfect bed size! That's nuts! You're one talented shopper.
ReplyDeletei just want to know what your man thinks of this score?
ReplyDeleteSo there I was absolutely amazed by that seriously gorgeous find of yours (honestly, you must of thought it was a dream!)and then I realised....Your Eulalie is wearing one of my Pretty Pickings dresses!!! And of course she looks adorable in it. How cute is that fabric? It was a nice find as well don't you think...
ReplyDeleteA tenner! That is an amazing price and gorgeous to boot!
ReplyDeleteMy oh my it is beautiful. You were meant to find it, it suits your room perfectly. You are one clever op shopper. xx
ReplyDeleteWow Wow Wow, that would have to be in a find of the year category. Looks spectacular on the bed, love the tulip pattern, reminds me of something I had as a kid. melx
ReplyDeleteokay you win on the vintage finds....you win....i give. xxx
ReplyDeleteBlooming heck. What a find! The colours, the pattern, the skill. People are nuts when they give away things like this. So happy it's found it's way to a home it will be admired and loved as it should be xx
ReplyDeleteI just love the light in your room and the shutters - so welcoming.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a response to the blanket!! (Which is to be hereforth known as The Blanket.) I've never seen anything like those enormous squares? Now I'm wondering why anyone would crochet smaller ones. So so so so so so so so unreal. I'm madly, big jealous. But not enough to never come back. Kellie xx
