The singing plastic toy phones just don't cut it....
...so I cut it, literally, from an old iphone box. It had her fooled for a good ten minutes.
Please note I cannot take credit for this ingenious idea. Lalie picked up the box on her own accord and held it up to her ear. I just made the proportions a little more realistic :)

he he that just might work.
Gorgeous girl! reminds me of eddie the bumps and all.xx
Love your work! x
before i read the words i asked michael, "is there a new skinny iphone out?". oh smile. x
Clever idea, I find it a bit scary when my son "answers" things.
This is hilarious! What a great idea! I guess it's because toy phones just don't really look like real phones so we can't fool 'em :D
haha I LOVE the one of her holding it up to her ear. genius x
Haha this is genius, I love it! You can't blame them for being so fascinated with our phones, they must wonder what this amazing little thing is that their Mumma's treat like solid gold. I love the expression on Eulalie's face as if to say "I totally know how to do this"
hee hee, this is genius! even if it does only last ten minutes :)
the Mr. recently bought himself an iPad and now L. is obsessed with it (my iPad mummy? ahem ahem). it's so hard to find the right balance between allowing them to be the 21st century babies that they are, whilst setting the limits and keeping them away as much as possible from all this technology overload.
on a completely different note, i lurve Lalie's dress! I would totally wear the same one if it came in my size!
xx
hilarious. love the look on lalie's face in the last pic!
agree with the franglaise, it must be hard to find the balance between too much technology and letting them explore what we are all so connected to in everyday life? little saskia is too young to be into playing with my iphone - although it doesn't stop her from throwing her gums at it (literally - do you know what i mean?! it's so ferocious at times!!)......but i do admit to letting her watch a children's app i downloaded to avoid a screaming fit in the car (very cute one called moobaa - watercolour illustrations and animal sounds)...oh dear, i'm in denial, it has started already.
x
ps. lalie's dress reminds me of a little liberty one my mum dressed me in as a baby. so sweet x
Claire, you're a genius. Fact. xx
That's hilarious! In her mind, she's probably saying "Oh, I think this one's broken". Kellie xx
that is awesome.
So cute! Make a pretend tv remote too, and you will be set! xx
What Tim said.
Oh, that is briliant!
That is too clever!
That is such a brilliant idea! Love it. She looks pleased as punch with her new gadget. x
What a wonderful idea. I need this for my toddler. She lovely my iPhone entirely too much.
I am going to do that RIGHT NOW. Well maybe after this tea..
lalie, you know what's up! Good work Claire and yummy, crispy photos too!
xo em
That's gold! I just went to pull out our old boxes... except they're different covers. Dang! Good idea though, you and Lalie. xx
PS. Rosie somehow managed to call my mum the other day by herself – I could her her on the phone saying Hello Babcia! And I thought how cute she's pretending to call my mum, until I heard my mum on the other end saying hello? Hello?
Great idea! Wondering where the box for mine went? Seems like a great back up in the handbag for a coffee shop distraction.
Adorable ... love hearing kids talking on the phone. They say some funny things!
loving this and all the pics from your trip to Sydney....oh the sunshine....i miss sunshine.
