Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Let it run all over me
- Van Morrison, 'And it stoned me'.
It's been pouring rain for days. We've kept ourselves entertained by dancing in the lounge - Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison and Billie Holiday have been our loyal companions. If there's a break in the rain we venture downstairs to splash in muddy puddles and play with the dogs. Then it's into the tub where the clear, cool water rinses her clean.
Of course, amidst all the sweetness and joy, there's been tantrums aplenty... but that's a story for another day.
What do you when it rains and rains and rains?
*Photos taken with my iphone.
These photos are wonderful!!! The third one is super special. What do I call it when it rains and rains? Tea Time...oh, did you mean what do I do? Honest answer? Kids watch a lot of TV and I drink a lot of tea. :-)
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt they are the best photos I have seen in I don't even know how long. HEAVEN x
ReplyDeleteOf course you have a beautiful washtub under your house. Why am I not surprised?!
ReplyDeleteRain - movies, books, tea x
I know this constant rain is crazy isn't it. These photos are the best!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! A water baby for sure.
ReplyDeleteCould there be any better way to bathe? We get our our gumboots and jump in some puddles.

ReplyDeleteWe build cushion forts in the lounge room. And then I try to hide inside for the rest if the wet day. Cabin fever. x

these are unbelievably gorgeous! When it rains? We hide indoors being grumpy. This last from about October- May.
ReplyDeleteRain, hail or shine, there's always Fleetwood Mac playing in this household! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. Rain is tricky with this age. Gumboots, snacks, sharing long showers with all the baby dolls getting washed and have you seen gelcap crayons? really easy for toddlers to draw with and super bright colours, just don't leave her alone with them to decorate your walls. melx
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos. I love that trough!

I know I've already seen these, but my goodness she is delicious! we make lots of mess.. painting, drawing, dress ups, baking... or a movie if they are sleepy enough to sit still for at least part of it x
ReplyDeleteOh my....these photos are just delightful. Perfect in fact! What a fun & special way to make the most of this yucky weather!

Oh Claire, these photos are pure magic, that beautiful babe in that gorgeous old tub and the lovely rich green foliage around them, perfect. Rain can be the pits and when it is so constant it can also send me a little batty. We do a lot of reading, building blocks, play dough, drawing and painting. Hope it lets up for you soon xo
ReplyDeleteis every single corner of your place absolutely gorgeous and charming and perfect?!?!?
ReplyDeleterachel xo
Lovely photos! When it rains we build forts, make crafty things, bake cookies, read, and if all else fails - haul out a dvd! x
ReplyDeleteEven your iPhone pictures are all kinds of awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnd Billie Holiday is on Josephine's "get her to sleep" playlist. The Very Thought of You. Beautiful xx
So dreamy! That's it! I'm moving to Australia.
ReplyDeleteShe is definitely a water baby, gorgeous photos of your sweetpea:) xx
ReplyDeletewow even your iphone pics look magical!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a fair bit of crazy weather here too.. been getting outside when we can, or playing undercover on the patio as much as possible. Tying to get out of the house as much as possible as we are both feeling a bit stir crazy.. visiting friends, going to playgroup, trips to the shops.. that sort of thing.. Looking forward to seeing the sun again..
I loved these photos on instagram, such beautiful light.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see that Lalie Is not scared of water!
You can send some rain down to us in Tasmania, our water tanks and garden would love it.

ReplyDeleteYour photos are stunning - you always capture such special moments so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously - is there any thing in your house that isn't wonderful - the trough - oh how I love that trough!
Amazing photos! We are such fans of dancing around here too, especially if it's to Fleetwood Mac.
ReplyDeleteKellie xx
Oh, so beautiful! Reminds me of my childhood - my mum always chose the sink over the bath for me. What do I tend to do on a rainy day? Not sit still - I tend to clean or organise 'stuff'. How dull...but I do actually enjoy pottering around the house.
ReplyDeleteoh claire, i love, love, love these pics. plenty of rain in London, so we build giant cubby houses out of blankets and sheets, bake gingerbread men, make a pillow mattress for Limi to dive on from the couch, draw on the blackboard doors.....there's a LOT of rain in London :) xx
ReplyDeleteso in love with these pictures!! such a sweet baby (and blog too!)
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous images Claire!!! She will love these one day!
