At last, the bubble has burst and I'm starting to get into the spirit of all things Christmassy. Lalie and I have been spending our mornings in the backyard foraging for natural elements that we can transform into festive decor. Bringing the outdoors in has always been my favourite way to decorate, and this year I'm counting on the glitterisation of a few twigs, fronds and leaves to transform our home into a bit of a Queensland inspired Christmas wonderland. I can't wait to share our creations with you... I've got a 'backyard wreath' underway that I'm pretty excited about.
Do you have a theme this year? Are you getting your Christmas craft on? If you have kids, do you get them involved? I'd love to hear about your traditions.
We just got our tree last weekend but, haven't begun the decorating! Where has the time gone?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I love her little bodysuit! So cute!
ReplyDeleteWe are doing some Christmas craft here.
First up was potato stamping some wrapping paper.

This week we are going to make a popcorn and cranberry garland...and by this I mean I will try to string them together faster than Toddler C can eat them!
Oh my gosh that leotard! I am in love...
ReplyDeleteAnd besides having the tree up, we have quite a bit to do before the big day. I'm hoping we don't get too behind, how did this creep up on us so quickly this year? Hope your weekend was lovely xo
Can't wait to see your wreath. We have a very loose red and white stripped back theme this year. Mostly out of a lack of space!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Nothing quite beats a bit of foraging and then a good dowsing in glitter!! We are going the natural handmade tree this year and are having a whale of a time pulling together all sorts of found things and turning them all festive and pretty. Hope all is lovely :) x
ReplyDeleteWe're bringing the outside in too! Plenty of holly from the garden this year. Love Lalie's leotard! Xx
ReplyDeleteThis year it's all about glitter too! My son is two years old and i get him involved with Christmas crafts and he love it.
ReplyDeleteOh it has come around all too soon. I am trying not to get too caught up in the hype and just plod along on our merry little way. I have some beeswax candles planned for tomorrow and perhaps some Christmas gift tags for Thursday.....both with Abbie.
ReplyDeleteOh me too.....loving that leotard!
Can't wait to see your wreath x
Aww, these pics are so sweet! :-)
ReplyDeleteLalie's leotard is beyond cute! I love the idea of using natural elements with a bit of glitter. Can't wait to see what you make. Unfortunately I have a husband who has a conniption at the mere mention of glitter (he insists once you have glitter inside you NEVER get rid of it, bah hambug, lol). We've been getting our Christmas craft on in other ways though. http://wp.me/p2wza8-u2
