52 | the ones that got away

I dare say I've probably been the most inconsistent participant of Jodi's 52 project this year. I started late, and then with Paddy working away, an exhausting pregnancy and busy life with a newborn, I found it impossible to post here every week.

I really wanted to record the above captures here because I feel as though they partially fill a few big gaping holes that have been left in this space over the last year. It's been a big year for us and I wanted to document Lalie's growth and Marguerite's entrance into the world, and our family.

Although time consuming, I really enjoyed going back through a years worth of photos. With a fresh perspective, I really appreciate these overlooked moments more than I did at the time. Sometimes I think you just need a little distance from the event - enough so that they're no longer simply moments - they're memories.

 Linking up with Jodi.

  5. My favourite bit of the 52 project is watching these little people grow! This idea to have "the ones that got away" all together in one post is just the best way to see how much they've changed over 52 weeks!

    1. I didn't think the quality was really any less than my usual posts. And as for quantity... even with these additions I didn't make the whole 52 portraits... so I guess I haven't overdone it on quantity either.

    2. Claire, just to clarify, I meant the quality of your photographs are consistent in the way they're always beautifully constructed and heartfelt. You are a true talent and inspiration x

  15. Can I come and live in your family? seriously, your children are beyond gorgeous, and there is so much love in each and every shot, how could anyone not with to be a part of it? What a lovely lovely mumma you must be to create such a beautiful life for these cute little people. (I really love the first three pictures so much, and the second last one - that bubba face is priceless).

  16. These are beautiful Claire, you've inspired me to go through my pictures too. I dropped out of the 52 project about 4 weeks in, and although I instagrammed I couldn't keep up with what I wanted to be quality portraits. Perhaps I'll do a post a bit like this to share the moments I didn't think were worthy at the time x
